UTEP finalizes '16 recruiting class

College basketball is defined by the makeshift nature of teams' rosters.

Year to year, players leave programs by exhausting their eligibility, transferring to other schools they feel are better fits, or leaving early to turn pro -- paving the way for new temporary faces of a university.

In an offseason that has seen three Miners transfer from the program (Christian Romine, Brodricks Jones, Josh McSwiggan) and Lee Moore turn pro, UTEP's 2016 recruiting class became bigger than initially expected after Earvin Morris, Hooper Vint, Tevin Caldwell, and Victor Mbachu exhausted their eligibility.

Adrian Moore -- out of North Little Rock, Arkansas -- finalizes the class.

The Miners received the 6'4, 175-pound shooting guard's signed national letter of intent Monday, UTEP announced.

"Adrian has won at a high level, and he's a very good athlete who plays hard," UTEP coach Tim Floyd said. "His skill level has improved each year that he has played. He's excited to be a part of our program, and we're excited to have him."

Moore helped North Little Rock High School capture the 7A (highest classification) state title in 2014 and 2015 -- averaging 19 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4 assists, and 5 steals per game in '15.

"I have been here for 25 years," North Little Rock HS coach Johnny Rice told UTEP, "and he is the best overall student-athlete that we have had. I have never had a kid more beloved by his teammates, classmates, faculty, and the community. He is a really high character kid. UTEP is getting a good one."

Moore caps off a 2016 recruiting class that includes Deon Barrett, Tim Cameron, Roman Silva, and Chris Barnes.
